Question
Yeah no it cracked itself. So do baby eegs need to be always kept warm or they'll die?, like what im trying to say is what possible reasons would it be that it would die when starting to crack?

Answer
Hi,

I am not sure how much of a help I can be since I have never incubated eggs myself, but yes they need to be kept warm. The parents usually sit all day on the eggs, even when they are hatching. The babies cannot generate enough of their own heat to keep themselves warm and they must rely upon an external heat source.

As to why the baby died, there can be many reasons. Perhaps the baby was not fully developed yet and the egg was accidentally cracked, which introduced bacteria and the egg dried out. Maybe the shell was too tough or perhaps the baby was too weak, or it was not kept at the right temperature and humidity. Incubating eggs yourself can be very difficult. I am sorry it did not work out.
