Mixed Colors of Indian Fantails

Mr. Ruble, I am going to buy an almond cock and black hen of indian fantail pair. Do you think they will breed mixed colors?

Answer
Approximately half of the young will be almond, of both sexes.  However they will not be show almond color; but will have more white.  My experience with combining almond with spread (black) is heavy covering of black speckles on an almond/white background.

If your black hen is from a black family (breeding) you will probably get 50% blacks and 50% speckled almonds from this mating.
