Question
is black eye color on all white homers does that mean they are full blooded homers? I have a white homer with a different eye color. is that how you tell a white homer from a white roller?

Answer
White pigeons with black eyes is very common.  It is more unusual, and usually intentional to have a pure white pigeon with colored eyes, whether yellow, orange or pearl.

Black eyed whites are a genetic expression known as Piebald White.  The black eyes are a part of that expression; they go together.  There are many ways to create a colored eyed white pigeon, but the most common and simplest is to combine the genetic factors of Ash-red and Homozygous Grizzle.  These birds can have any color of eye, as black is NOT part of the expression.

Rollers and Homers are very different birds.  Rollers are smaller and apple shaped while Homers are generally larger, very tight feathered with deep chest.  Either breed can be found in both black eyed and colored white.
