Question
I have two newly hatched pigeons on top of my wall unit a/c. The problem is the a/c needs to be replaced. how do  move them?

Answer
Hi Jim,

The best possible solution is to leave them alone for about a month to grow. I know this might not be very practical, but once you move the nest, the babies might not be able to survive without being hand raised. The parents are used to them being in the same spot day after day where they originally built the nest. Once the nest is moved, the parents might assume the babies are gone. You could try to move the nest as close to the area where it was originally constructed, at about the same height. Another problem might occur with all of the commotion of replacing the A/C unit. If the parents feel too disturbed, they may leave the babies also.

If the babies are left behind, here is a list of rehabbers by location you may wish to contact. Just tell them your story and they might be able to help out:

If at all possible, it is best to leave them alone for a while.
