Parakeet Taking egg out of nest

Question
Hello Chrys,

I have 3 parakeets ( I believe 2 females and a male). One of the females has laid 3 eggs in the past week and a half. What was strange was that the female that laid the eggs, took one of them out of her nest and dropped it to the bottom of the cage.  The egg looks like as if she had been picking at it.  Is this normal?  She has also been pretty aggressive with the male bird.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Answer
Hi, Rene.  Thanks for posting!

Are all these keets housed in the same cage together?  Is the male pair-bonded with one of these females, i.e., has the male mated with one of these females?  If yes, do you know which female?  Is there a nesting box or some other type of nest?  Do you know how old your keets are?  The answers to my questions will help me answer your original concerns.

Thanks.

Chrys
