Finding a stallion

Question
hi,
I have a 14.2 mare who is 8 years old and has had a foal previously and I was hoping to breed her again. She's not fine in build but nor is she a cob. I was wondering what the largest stallion for her would be?
thanks

Answer
Hi- If she is pretty stocky- I would say about 16-16.2 hands. It really depends on what the stallions offspring have been in the past and how big they were at birth. Since she has previously foaled, she should have no problems carrying a larger stallions foal. the breed also depends-you would not want to breed her with a draft cross, but stick closer to whatever breed she is. I wish you the best of luck...
