QuestionI have had my two sulcatas for about 3 years now and one of them (wilma) is
just fine, she's growing fast and she eats a ton and is very active. But my
other sulcata (phil) rarely eats is about the same size as when I got him and
isn't active at all. I don't know what to do! I recently separated them leting
wilma stay outside in their enclosure so I can keep a better eye on phil and
his wellbeing is their anything else I can do?
AnswerAmanda,
Only a vet can help you. I don't know why Phil isn't growing. Maybe he has parasites? Take him to a vet. Maybe take both of them so the vet can see the size comparison. Be prepared to give the vet a detailed description of their diet and eating habits (for example, does Phil only eat certain foods).
An exotic animal vet is the best choice - for a Sulcata I would recommend driving even 50 miles if you need to to see an exotic vet.
If he doesn't have parasites, he may have a metabolic disorder. I don't know about how vets treat that, or even how often it happens, but you can ask the vet if that's possible.
Good luck,
Amanda
