Question
QUESTION: Is it okay to put a pair of sugar gliders (a male and a female) arnd 4 months together ?
The female wont get pregnant right ?

ANSWER: Nadia,

At four months of age, they are not ready to mate.  However, I wouldn't wait too long to separate them if you don't want them to have joeys.  Generally, gliders mature at about 6 to 8 months of age.  If you do plan to have the male neutered, I would say the earlier the better.

I hope this helps to answer your question.

QUESTION: But would it harm them if I dont separate them ?

Answer
Nadia,

Are the two gliders related to each other?  If not, then they could mate and have joeys.  If they are related, then you would have to have the male neutered, so they don't reproduce.  Inbreeding can cause deformity and other genetic issues for the babies.

Sugar Gliders are very social animals, and do better when they have a companion or two.  Does this answer your question?
