problems with a reticulated python???

Question
I just brought home a 3yr old female reticulated python who is 13ft long and approx. 70-100lbs. The second day we had her, we took her outside to soak in the sun since it was a great day outside. We have a redlight to help heat up half of her cage (which takes up a full wall of our livingroom). When we took her outside, we noticed that she was slightly drooling, nothing to fall on the ground or add to, just enough to catch on the side of her mouth and bubble. There wasn't anything other than her loud breathing so we didn't really know anything to think of it. Well, yesterday (it's been around 4-5 days now that we've had her) she started staying out of the water bowl (where before she'd completely submerge her head and most of her body) and sleep in there and not move til the next day when we'd take her out to handle her. Her personality hasn't changed since we've brought her home, she's been away from other snakes. The lady we got her from said she hasn't ate for 3wks and would be due to eat soon but she hasn't had a full shed and her eyes are now clear, but no more than a few scales of shed have came off, but it's clear that her body is getting ready to shed. So this is confusing. If there's anyway you would have some suggestions this would be great! Thanks!

Answer
The eyes always become clear about 24-48 hours before the full shed starts. That is ok. She obviously knew that the shed was coming because of her sleeping in her water bowl. Sign of a seasoned shedder. :) She probably won't eat until her shed is done. This is normal.

The bubbling and drooling does bother me. This could be a sign of a respiratory infection. http://www.anapsid.org/rti.html
