my Python is very swollen,it hasn't pooped in two weeks.it has a couple spots that look like mouse teeth at the rectal opening is that normal? i have bathed the snake in warm water two times yesterday without any thing.i had feed it a frozen mouse before this all happen,i think may be he consumed the mouse the wrong way, thank you thresa

Answer
Hi Thresa,

Was this the first time you fed your snake a frozen thawed mouse? If the mouse was not completely thawed out it will cause the symptoms you are talking about. This can and very often will lead to the death of a snake. I would not recommend feeding frozen thawed due to this problem.

I this is the route you would like to take you need to buy a thermometer to check the internal temp of the mouse. It needs to be at around 89-90 degrees.

I would bring her into a vet right away. They will be able to tell you more.

Hope this helps,
