QuestionLast night my husband found a baby eastern king snake on our front porch. Since he is so beautiful I brought him to school to show my students (I know he is non-venemous). What can I feed him? He is so small, about 7-8 inches, I figured a mouse would be too much for him (or her). Please help a very inquisitive class and their teacher! Thanks!
AnswerThe best thing to try would be a pinky (newborn) mouse. A baby Eastern King should easily be able to eat one of those. However, sometimes wild animals are difficult to get feeding in captivity. If you can't get it to eat after a week or two then I would suggest releasing it back to the wild.
