QuestionI have recently bought a captive bred baby bull snake, and know everything about how to care for it, except for its humidity requirements. I assume that it requires fairly low humidity since it does not live in jungle areas. I currently try to keep it around 50%, but am not sure if that is right. Also, what should the humidity be while shedding? And, will the snake find the water bowl by itself, or do i need to dip him in it or something to show it to him?
Thanks!
AnswerThe humidity of your Bull Snake enclosure should be kept at 50% to 60%. Unless you live in an especially humid or dry area, this level of humidity is easily achieved. It should not vary during shedding. Mine is kept at about 55% and she seems to do fine, no problems shedding. I would show the snake where the water is, but have no doubt that he will eventually find it either way.
