Question
I have five questions if you could please give a brief answer for each one.

When and why did you choose this profession?
What school did you go to for your degree and how long did it take?
Have you ever been bitten at work and if so by what?
What is your favorite part of the job?
Which of the creatures you work with is your favorite?

Answer
1) All my life, I wanted a career working with animals.  When I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, it cut off most of my possible options for doing so.  But snakes are low maintenance animals, and with support from the people around me, I found that I could keep up with the work needed, and make a living at it.  I think reptiles are endlessly fascinating, and I learn new things every year working with them.

2)  I have never been to college.

3)  Absolutely.  I've been bitten by ball pythons, corn snakes, garter snakes, and geckos of various species.  I fully expect to be bitten many more times.

4)  My favorite part?  Hatching!  It's just like Christmas, you don't know what will pop out.

5)  I would have to say my current favorites are the Lygodactylus williamsi.  They have brains and boldness far out of proportion to their size, and they're a riot to watch.  Out of my ball pythons, my current favorite is our holdback woma-lesser, Haokah.  I'm also fond of a really large normal female named Tiamat.
