i think my chameleon is sick

My male veiled chameleon won't stay on the leaves or branches in the vivarium. instead, he keeps staying on the bottom of it. is this normal? if not, what's wrong?

No, that is not normal that your veiled chameleon is staying on the bottom of the tank.  
Are his colors dark?  
What type & brand of UVB are you using, is it a flourescent tube bulb, or a compact or coil light?  What type of baskinglight do you use, a bright white light?  
How are you measuring the temps, with a digital probe a temp gun, or a stick on type of thermometer?
What is the humidity?  Do you have a drip system for watering?
