Question
Hello,I have an African Fat-Tailed gecko named Clyde. He is a very kind warmhearted animal. My four brothers and mom love him. I'm not sure how old he Is. So we got him from a local pet store. He ha d been with lots of other geckos,so I guess this was one of his problems. When we got him he was really skinny and he would not eat for 11months. We tried lot s of different things. Then finnaly after another month we tried crickets again and he ate them then we tried mealworms and waxworms he ate them also. Then we started noticing he had protruding hip bones and a visible spine and his tail was really small.I looked every where for answers. Then we went to Petco and a lady told us he was emeiciated. He also hides and sleeps a lot  we tried removing some of the items and holding him more. We have no idea what to do and im panicking. Please please help us we love our pet so much!

Answer
Ok, this sounds like it could many different things actually. I would take him to a qualified reptile veterinarian. You might also submit the question to our vet who writes for our magazine http://www.herphousemag.com and he will respond generally within in 48 hours. It really could be worms, or maybe a bacteria infection of some kind.  Also here is an article I did on the subject as well but I am leaning more towards worms or some internal parasite.
