Question
I HAD A HATCHLING HATCH ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26. IT IS VERY ACTIVE, HOWEVER HAS NOT EATEN YET. I AM WONDERING IF I SHOULD BE CONCERNED OR WHEN I SHOULD EXPECT HIM TO START EATING. I OFFERED HIM FRUIT FLIES BUT IT SEEMS TO BE MORE INTERESTED IN HOW TO ESCAPE H ITS ENCLOSURE. I HAVE IT IA A CRITTER KEEPER THAT I PUT INSIDE THE RAINFOREST TERRARIUM WITH THE OTHER ADULT ANOLES. HE IS SAFE THERE! THANK YOU!!!

Answer
Many baby reptiles don't need to eat right away, but he should start within 10 days.  The problem might be that, while he IS safe in his Critter Keeper-he doesn't realize it.  He still sees all those big lizards out there running around, and instinct tells him he's not safe.  Lizards don't understand plastic.  Maybe you should move him to a separate tank.  Also, try varying the food.
