QuestionWhat is the natural habitat of the european Viper, and what are consequenze of a viper bite
AnswerTo: Peter Hill
All Vipers are poisonous. Habitat varies depending on which viper you are referring to. ( There are many different varieties of European Vipers). For example, the Long - Nose Viper is the largest & most dangerous viper on the European mainland. Its habitat is brushy, rocky hillsides - dry regions; sometimes found in forest clearings also. It is most active at night. It is not an aggressive snake but when it does strike - it is quick & effective. It's venom is potentially lethal to humans.
(The venom cause severe pain & massive tissue damage).
The cross adder ( aka common adder ) is also called a European viper. Although poisonous, its venom is not as toxic as the Long Nose Viper.
Hope this helps.
