Molting mistake

Question
I just bathed my tangerine sized Caribbean crab and after his bath I noticed he has a rather large gel limb and was really lethargic.  Did I bathe it in the middle of a molt? If I did what do I do?  I am affraid of bacteria.  Is there anything I can do?  He was burried, but we are undergoing a seasonal change (warmer weather) here and I turned off the heat that I had all winter long, I just thought they were adapting.
Thank you,
Sarah

Answer
Dear Sarah,
thank you for your question.
I guess your crab is preparing to molt. Just don't handle him any more, there's not much more you can do now for him. Since you didn't dig him up, he hasn't yet begun to molt and I don't think you have to worry about this.
Bathing isn't really necessary as long as you provide a large freshwater bowl for the crabs to bathe themselves in. For Straws (Coenobita perlatus) you need a large saltwater dish, too, the other species need only a smaller saltwater dish (but enjoy a big one).
I hope I was of some help to you
