what kind of snake is it

I don't have a picture of it.  
An exterminator came out and stated that he had seen these kinds in rocky areas however, due to the high amount of moisture we are seeing he stated that have been around alot of places.  That's all the information I have for you.  Thanks for the help.

Question -
I found a small flesh colored snake with a black/brownish head in my basement today. It was approximately 10-12 inches long. I have never seen a snake like this before.  Any suggestions on what it is and if it is poisonous or not.  Thank you

1st im sorry this took so long had a problem with my broadband and wont be fixed until 24th so i loaded up aol dial up for now.. ive been pouring over my books and as yet have found anything close but will get back to you as soon as i do, and i usually do lol id my snakes so i will get back to you in a couple of days. thanks for the challange and sorry for the delay.
