Question
I have/had a green anole, and I don't know how but she got out of her cage!! This morning i went to check on her and mist her and she wasn't in there, i looked around the cage and this time she is not just blending in...Please help me!! She's gotten out before, but she was sitting right next to her tank. Since then I've kept things on top of the cage just in case, though I don't see how she could have lifted the lid. I already checked the windows, the vents, the shower, sink, toilet, under all of the beds, and around the area she ran off.  It's pretty cold here right now, so would she go for warmth? I have a Yorkie-Poo and a Dachshund/Beagle/Corgi mix, could they have eaten her?? Is there anything else I can do to find my poor little lizard??

Answer
Hello Carly, I am sorry you can't find your Green Anole. He/She will seek out warmth and water. Check near heater vents they love to hide and CAN get into vents. The problem with escaping Anoles is that they can fit almost anywhere. Make sure that the anole hasn't burried him/herself because this is common as well. Set out a couple of small dishes of water around the area you think (s)he escaped and this should draw him/her to it. If you can place a plate of flour down underneath the small shallow dish of water. That way if he was there you will notice tiny feet prints. And to answer the question about your dogs, Yes, dogs can and will eat lizards no matter the type of lizard or dog. It has been known to happen and no harm will come to your dog from doing this but lets jsut hope this is not what has happened. Keep looking and I hope he/she turns up. Good luck and let me know how it goes
