Question
My beardie has been very sick for over a week; since Tuesday 05/04. Last Wednesday I saw her doing what I call the "crocodile death roll".High wbc-a week ago it was 19,800, today it is 36,000, even with oral Baytril for 7 days and injectible antibiotis 2 times this week. Her muscle enzymes are high, protein is good at 6.1, potassium is low, glucose is 634. She does not move and will not open her eyes, only sometimes when you pick her up. She periodically gapes and puffs up, I figured from stress and fear.
She is housed in a 50 gallon aquarium with reptile carpet, UVB tube, heat emitter, daylight bulb. Temps range from 110 on the hot side to 85 on the cool side during the day. She was eating mostly mealworms with bits of fresh greens before she got sick.\
I the last week she has been at the vet receiving the antibiotics as mentioned earlier, on oxygen therapy several times a day, IV fluids, and tube feeding yesterday.

Answer
Hello Karen,

How old is your dragon?
What food have you fed her recently?  Where did you get the mealworms, & have you fed any crickets?  It could be renal or hepatic issues, or a severe bacterial type of infection from bad food, possibly.
Was she healthy previously before she got ill, or was this just a sudden thing that came on?
Her wbc is way out of hand, for sure.  What has the vet said, does he have any idea what could be wrong?
Do you happen to have the blood tests to send to me?  My email is:  Drache613@cfl.rr.com

Is her beard black?  How long between gaping does she go?  They do intermittently gape or take shallow breaths when their body is shutting down.  Are her eyes sunken in, or puffed up?
What type of thermometer do you use to measure the temperatures with?
