white spots

My 8 month old Chinese water dragon has been shedding about 2 times a month. This time around he has a bunch of tiny white spots on his back, in the area that is about to shed. Is this normal? Does he need more moisture?

Hi Rachel, more moisture will help the shed come off easily and it is probably a good idea. Do the spots look like shedding skin or is it under the old skin?
