QuestionWhat advice would you have with this problem? We are moving from Anchorage, AK to Tucson, AZ in July. We have a 3'iguana. We are flying and our household goods are going by ship. The flights take about 12 hours. Should we check the lizard as live animal in baggage or try and hand carry him? How does he stay warm enough in baggage to survive and how will TSA react to a large scary looking reptile?
Thank you.
Wally
AnswerIt will be july you shouldn't have to worry about warmth. You could use Delta Pets first and ship him that way put him in a large bag then inside a styro lined box and he will most likely be at the airport same time as you guys. I have no idea if you could just check him as a pet on the same flight and be better off you could ask the airline but I have shipped many many animals Delta and never had any serious issues. I can almost guarantee the airlines will not let you carry the lizard on with you. They consider them dangerous.
