Answer
When the baby gets to be a couple of months old, you'll be able to see the hemipenal bulges if it's a male.  Here's a good pictoral:

The solid white belly is actually a calm contented and perfectly warm baby.  The belly pattern is present when he is cold or stressed a little.  These changes are as normal as can be.
Little babies should start with good calcium rich greens first.  I also suggest putting the greens through a food processor with water, making almost a mush.  Collards, mustard greens and dandelion greens to start.  Collards and dandelion greens are the absolute best for calcium and mustards, also calcium rich, have a peppery taste babies seem to love.  I would also use a small Ziploc or Glad container lid as the dish, it is extremely shallow for better sight and access, and it's also blue, which attracts them.  Mist the salad during the day and the baby will run to drink and get a taste of the greens, then he will start nibbling.  Once he really starts eating, add a dollop of babyfood butternut squash or sweet potato.  Then after he's a bit older you can start grating the vegetables. But always have at least three good staple greens.
