which lizard to buy.

Hi. Im very new to having a lizard prior to ten years ago when I was younger. My roomate and I are looking for a good desert/semi desert lizard to keep as a pet. We have a 44 gallon emporium. What kind of lizard would you recommend as a pet? We would like two if that is possible for them to share the same habitat. And do lizards like to be handled very often? Also price is a factor.  If an emporium is a soft mesh you'd be limited to perhaps geckos.  However, if your wallet is thin, give it a good rethink.  A good responsible pet owner should have a wad of cash for a lizard's medical needs.
 If you were thinking of a docile friendly cuss like a beardie, the mesh tank is not going to last, a beardie wlll make holes in it.  Plus, UVB and heat lighting will bleach it out.
