Bearded Dragon behavior, normal or not?

22 14:43:08

Question
I recently got my beardy, and I really don't know his behavior yet. I've noticed almost every night he's been running around the tank, rubbing his face on the walls and what not. He's also trying to climb the wall, usually jumping with his hind legs and trying to climb up, and maybe out.

I have no idea if this is normal behavior, maybe excercising, or if he's really hyper. Maybe scared. He's 3 months old right now.

The only expierience I've had with raising a beardy was one who was sick, and I was nursing him back to health, but he was still pretty weak when his previous care-takers parents came and got him, so I didn't really have time to observe any behavior or anything.

As for Dystan, (3 month old) He usually starts acting like this about and hour after he eats. To add to his behavior, he also digs up alot of the cedar as if trying to find an exit at the bottom lining of the tank.

If you could give any advie as to if this is normal or not I'd be thankful =3

Thanks, and take care.

Answer
Hello, He is just being a normal beardie. maybe a little hyper but normal.

Also did you say you have cedar bedding? first of all its toxic and second he can swollow a chunk while going for his crickets and it would kill him. Newspaper/paper towel or non adhesive shelf liner all work well...I use newspaper and shelf liner...looks nice and is safe.
