Question
we have a 4 year old gecko, for the last 3 years we have been hand feeding it, we didnt know for the 1st year about a hide box, so she didnt get wet, just her drinkin water....layers of skin has grown over her eyes, we wet her eyes everyday w a qtip...nothing seems to work...we cant afford a vet right now, but i cant just let her suffer....do u have any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Jaime,
Is this in her actual eye or is it the eye lids?  You can try using an eye ointment on her eyes. You should be able to call a vet and ask if the brand "Stye" would be safe for your leo. The "STYE" brand is of course for humans but in many cases it is the same stuff that is used on reptiles. If the shed isn't actually in her eye, Neosporin ointment can be used around the eye.  Do be sure to provide the humid hide on the warm side of her tank to help with the shedding problems now and to help her shed in the future. If you need more on how to make a cheap, easy hide, do look at some of my past answers on leopard geckos if you are able to.  If you can't look, give a shout and I will send you my care sheet.
