Lump under juvenile nile monitors mouth

I have recently bought a nile monitor a few weeks ago and it has developed a small hard lump under it's chin and i was wondering is it through biting all the time and should i get it checked out

Hello Tom,

Can you post a picture of your monitor for me?  
The small hard lump is probably going to be either a cyst or an abscess.  How long has he had the lump for?  You could take him in to get the area aspirated to see if there is any infection in the area.
Has he been knocking his chin on his tank or something?
