sick leopard gecko?

22 14:25:37

Question
I have a leopard spotted gecko who has been in good health until the last 2-3 days.  Of late, he's been hanging out in his water dish, won't eat, and is lethargic.  I'm alarmed now because he's shedding but doing nothing about it (he normally scrapes himself and rolls around like it itches).

Go to vet?

Answer
Hello Jill,
Hm, usually hanging out in the water dish normally indicates parasites or worms.
How do his stools look?  Are they runny or really smelly?  The urates, are they hard or soft?
I would recommend getting a fecal done on him, to see what his levels of coccidia are or his worms.  Some low levels are acceptable but it sounds like his are fairly high.
I hope he feels better.
You may need to try to get some oral fluids into him with a plastic dropper if possible.  If he doesn't start eating you can feed him chicken babyfood via syringe, too.
