Question
QUESTION: Hi there, We have a 3 month old baby bearded dragon who recently was attacked by our cat.  We took the dragon to the vet yesterday and the vet gave him some antibiotics but thinks he will be fine.  He is still very lethargic and won't eat.  He has been taking fluids though.  I would feel better if he would eat.  Today is Sunday - he ate last at approx. 10 a.m. Friday. Should we try to give him baby food To maybe jump start his appetite again or just wait it out.

Thanks, Lori

ANSWER: The poor little guy is traumatized and bruised.  Just make sure he is well hydrated and you can add a little dilute pomagranate juice or grape juice (no sugar added) to the water.  Also Acidophiliz+ by Pet Authority will help recondition his tummy and gett his appetite going again.

QUESTION: Thank you. I have ordered the acidophiliz but it will be a few days until I receive it. How much should I give him? How long can he go without eating??

Answer
Have a fresh salad mush available, keep dabbing a bit of butternut baby food on his snout to lap, and keep him hydrated.  As long as he has some calories and keeps hydrated he should be fine till the probiotic arrives.  Since he is a baby, a couple of drops a day will do.
You can also ask your vet if he has any Oxbow Carnivore Care, if he does, make a little every day and like the babyfood, drop a bit on his snout to lap, that will give him some good protein.
