Question
hello, my gecko is about 20 months old and she's been shedding very well until now, her last shedding went ok apart from the end of her tail is bleeding (there seems to have a cut on it) and there's still some of her old skin stuck on it, i don't want to take that off because I'm afraid of hurting her, and ive put some antiseptic (for reptiles) on her but i need help and advise on how to take the skin off of her tail and advice for further shedding (i do not have a humid box but i am definatley getting one before her next shedding) please help me!!

Answer
If you are afraid of removing the shed, you really should have her seen by a good reptile veterinarian.  He can also check the wound for possible infection and treat it properly. Without seeing the tail, it would bet improper to tell you anything else.  And get or even make a humid hide right away.  Many people use a large plastic coffee can and place  wet sphagnum moss in cheese cloth bag inside (easy to take the bag out, soak and replace). Make the bag the size that will also allow space for the gecko.  If you don't have a rough stone, get a paving stone as well.  It's great for the lizard to rub against during a shed.
