My Leopardo Gecko Is VERY Stickish

My leopard gecko is about 2 years old and I just bought her today. She is very stickish and when she runs she gets pink on her sides. Whenever I pick her up she always tries to bite me. I tried asking my friend about it and she said she is probably scared and I should go to you guys. But is there any hints or ways to get her calm.

Oh poor girl, she is still getting used to her new home & you.  
What is your setup like for her?  Are you using an undertank heater along with a low wattage basking light?  
Try getting her used to you slowly but introducing your hand into the tank, little by little.  Each day, keep your hand in the tank a few minutes longer.  Eventually, she will trust you more & should want to get out of her tank daily.
Maybe she was not handled at all or very little previous to you getting her & she is not sure what to do.
How are you picking her up, from overhead or are you scooping her up from underneath?  Sometimes they get scared if you go from overhead as they view your hand as a predator.

Has she eaten anything yet?
