Swollen beardie Eyes

Hi Tracie, Yes his eyes are swollen and purple underneath. when I gently rub with warm q tip they open a small bit but then when I let go it just goes right back to closed... I will turn his light off and try and get the reptisun. Can I still give him calcium while the light is off? Also what should I do in two weeks if his eyes are not open?

Hello Amanda,

I am sorry about his eyes!  They should be starting to go down pretty soon.  Can you get some sterile saline solution to help?  Are they crusted over also?
Yes, please turn off the UVB light!  Give him a couple of weeks before placing any other UVB light over him.  
You could try getting some antibiotic eye ointment to help with his eyes, if they don't start clearing up.
You should give him calcium during the day instead of at night so his body will process it more effectively.
