excessive urinating

I have 4 rabbits I adopted from a bunny rescue.  One urinates excessively.  Her litter box needs to be changed daily because she pees so much.  She's eating fine, and is active.  Any diagnosis?

Dear Jane,

Excessive urination can be a sign of renal disease.  The only way to know for sure is to have your vet take a blood sample an check her kidney values (B.U.N., creatinine, phosphorus, calcium, etc.), and to be *extra* sure, measure the specific gravity of a urine sample from her.  If the B.U.N. and creatinine levels are high *and* her urine is dilute, it could be a sign of a serious health problem that your vet can advise you re:  treatment.
