Question
I have never bred anything before as an FYI.  I got a pair of rabbits recently <male is neutered so I donno hopw she got preg> and figured out the female is preg..  Tonight she gave birth, and different web sites ive seen said to check the babies to make sure they are alive..   Well she had 3, one died..  I need to know basic things, like i put the babies back, do I cover them with the fur mom pulled?   is that good for warmth, will they suffocate?  Im just scared to do anything wrong cause of the dead baby, I dont want the whole litter to be rejected cause I touched them..    Also Im scared that the babies wont be warm.    I dont mean to sound frantic, but this is new to me...:)

Answer
Discard the dead ones and leave the others in the nest covered in the fur.  Yes the fur is warm enough, no they will not suffocate.  Let the mom do the rest.  She will not feed them like a dog or cat, she will only go into the nest once or twice a day and you probably will not see that.  As long as the babies are alive she is doing her job.  Leave them alone and check them only once every other day.  They can be weaned at 6 weeks old.
