Question
Hello,

I am moving to Oslo, Norway from Toronto, Canada for a year or more. I have a Holland lop named Ronnie he's 3 years old now, i've had him since he was 2 months old. I love him dearly and can't imagine leaving him for so long.

I left for two months last year, My mom was taking care of him, unfortunately she didn't give him affection/attention too much, she likes him though but she hates when he sheds and doesn't like petting him a lot. She told me while i was away he wasn't drinking water or eating his hay which i know is vital for his digestion, he would eat veggies and pellets but not water or hay. He was depressed cause i was gone!

Now i cannot leave him alone again even if my mother knows how to take care of him, i know she won't love him or cuddle with him as much as i like too every day and night.

Ive called many airlines i do not understand why they wont allow rabbits in cabins since they are quiet, and not smelly unlike dogs/cats can be. I know it's an international flight so it's more restricted but i don't know what to do anymore i really want him with me, i'll take check in baggage as well, never cargo!

The flight will be one way,  the first flight from Canada to the stop over will be about 6-7 hours then from the stop over to Oslo the last destination would be estimated 2 hours. I'm worried that if he's not a carry on, im worried about how the workers will handle him during transfer.

I've called Finnair many times unfortunately they've told me different answers where i am absolutely not allowed to take him with me (even when it states rodents (which they consider rabbits) are allowed in cabin but they don't specify which flights! they just say their allowed!) and they've told me that he can be with me in cabin from Canada to Oslo,Norway. I cannot trust their answers at all.

I'm traveling around August , i know it's kinda hot in that time, hoping to book a night flight. I just need advice, i can't stand leaving him i feel there's no hope for us rabbit lovers when it comes to this!

Thank you

Geraldine

Answer
hi Geraldine its up to each individual airport to stay which animals they will carry.
it might help to phone a local zoo and find out how they manage to transport animals great distances
i believe their are several company's that do animals but i do not know there names.
