Female Rabbit
QUESTION: Hello,
i have 2 rabbits, i have 2 but i don't know how old are they, i have 2, female n male, but i asked an expert before you and she told me to separate them at 10 weeks old, why shall i separate them, i want to know
there age and why to separate them.
thanks,Faisal
note: can i feed them pellets instead of hay, know im feeding them lettuce and pellets
note: the 2 pic that i sent you it is for the same female rabbit.
ANSWER: Faisal,
They should be separated at 10 weeks because they will soon reach sexual maturity and start breeding. I'm assuming they're related, so you may risk genetic issues if/when the female becomes pregnant. I agree with your previous expert.
Please also consider getting them both fixed as it will extend their life by at least 5 years.
Best of luck!

stand that part

so should i separate them or keep them together
AnswerHello Faisal!
You have a few questions here so I'll answer them one by one for you.
1)But they are about 2 or 3 months so should i keep them together and i didn't understand that part:
You need to separate them since they are at the age where sexual maturity starts. Once they are fixed, wait about a month and you can put them back together again. Keep them within eyesight of each other though, so they get used to each others sight, sound, and smell while they recover. But yes... separate them please.
2)Can i feed them pellets instead of hay, know im feeding them lettuce and pellets
No - hay should always be available. Pellets were created by people who breed rabbits for sale to fatten them up quicker. Hay is better for their diet and they should always have a pile to eat from.
Best of luck!
