Question
I have two rabbits a male and a female.  They are house rabbits and we have a spare room where the tray and food goes, they also have the run of the stairs and landing.  They have never been in a hutch. We are now having to move into a much smaller house and we will not have that spare room, we may have to move them outside or restrict them to an enclosure of some kind, how do you think they would react to this and how can we avoid causing them stress when moving.

Answer
Rabbits are very adaptable, as long as you stay with them, they will take to any new place.  If you just have a small pen for them, they will learn that this is their new space.  This doesn't mean they will be happy about it, but gradually they will adjust.

There isn't any way to avoid stress, but you can minimize it by taking them to the new place ahead of time and getting them set up before the actual moving is going on.

You may have very grumpy bunnies who glare at you and ignore you for a while, but they will eventually get used to the new space.
