Question
hi,
my bunny has an infection in her upper jaw bone and her tooth on the top (the 2 in front) have slanted off to the side. Recently i noiced that her lower 2 tooth have been growing in size and that is putting more pressure on the upper tooth. would it be safe to remove both the upper tooth? and will the tooth grow back?
Thank You.

Answer
What you have is called malocclusion. It is when the rabbit's teeth get misaligned due to an irregular bite..could be caused by a disease or a physical change. The top teeth tend to chip away at the bottoms, and vice versa. When that bite doesn't allow it anymore, the teeth continue to grow and grow, as you are seeing. Cutting the teeth will help, but it will need to be done regularly, as the teeth will continue to grow all during the rabbits life.
the teeth will definitely grow back.  Cut the bottom and the top and perhaps Mother nature will allow them to realign as they grow back in. Best wishes!
