Rex Lump under chin

Question
my rex is one year old andeating and drinking well. however a lump of what lookes like fat has appeared under her chin? what could it be is this normal?

Answer
Dear Samantha,

If the "lump" is soft, pliable and symmetrical it's likely just her dewlap:  a fold of skin (and sometimes fat) that often develops under the chin of a female rabbit.  No known, obvious purpose, but it makes a very cute chin pillow.  :)

If the lump is hard, then it needs to be seen by a good rabbit vet:

to be sure it's not an abscess that needs removal or other treatment.

Hope that helps.
