Dutch Death

Question
Hello-
I had a pure-bred gray and white Dutch bunny--'Dutchess Rae'.  Her mother abandoned the entire litter and Dutchess was the only survivor... I hand fed her and raised her.  She was never spayed.  She had three litters all about 8mo apart, and was always fed Timothy hay, pellets, bannanas, apples, lots of cabbage, a bit of pineapple juice, and kept very clean.  About a year ago she had runny poops, and drainage from her eye, but I took her off the veggies and it cleared up.  On Dec. 23 '04, I found her limp in her cage, breathing heavily.  I took her out and placed her on the kitchen rug where she always ran around, and called the emergency vet.  She attempted to hop around, but it was very disoriented, so I tried to keep her quiet.  While she was laying on her side, she would kind of perk up and twitch to the side sometimes.  This kept on for about two hours, then her breathing got heavier (she was breathing out of her mouth).  She died about 10 minutes later, looking up at me with her big brown eyes.  She was such a sweet thing, always playful and licking me, and doing happy dances.  I miss her so much and am wondering how she died? Please give me your best guess.

Answer
hello april- sorry about your rabbit, but without having seen her ,my guess is she had a stroke .
one thing i will say is that rabbits only need pellets and water, with the odd bit of green but on no circumstance would i feed banana and pineapple juice these would help create her runny poops.
sorry i cannot be more helpful
