QuestionNot doing well, they are alert but are not eating or drinking for approximately 16 hours. What should we do? My cell is 786-457-3545.
AnswerHi, Rossana
I'm guessing I have the babies now, right? :)
The two of them are doing well, though with cotties it's always touch and go. They are eating under protest, staying warm, and seem to be *very* strong.
Did Dr. Bo tell you to stimulate their urination? Because BOY, did they have to pee! They're doing that well now, too.
Say some prayers for them. I've heard from a lot of cottontail rehabbers and they all say the same thing: When they're this small, they seem to be doing really well, and then BAM. They're gone. :( I hope that doesn't happen, and hope to be able to release them in your garden (away from the cat and dog!) as soon as they're able.
