Question
Hello, I just bought a beautiful gray-brindle six week old female mini rex bunnie, she in now exploring her cage. How long should I wait until I hold her? how do you tame a rabbit? and at what age should I get her spayed?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Answer
You tame them by handling them and you should begin now.  Keep the bunny close to you when you hold her because they are afraid of heights. I am not one to ask about spaying because I do not believe it is necessary in bunnies.  Rabbits do not have go into "heat" like dogs and cats so there isn't anything to worry about with being messy.  If you don't plan on getting a male I think surgery is too risky on a bunny.  Rabbits don't tolerate it well.   That is my opinion, for someone elses go to www.rabbit.org.  They are a rescue society that pushes spay and neuter and they have lots of good information on feeding and training bunnies,.
