Question
hi Sarah
i own a male rabbit and a female.
the male is sweet and loving but the female is very mean.
i would love if my female could have kits, but she doesn't like people or the buck. i don't want her to hurt the male or the babies. she has bitten and scratched me numerous times and I'm worried about how she will treat the male and her kits.

so my question is
should i mate her or not??

thank you
~Elizabeth

Answer
hello Elizabeth

Never say never. i would not put them together at the moment as if they get into a big fight one or both will get very hurt. i would try taming your female rabbit first, it may be hard and a lot of work and patients but it may pay off. try giving her loads of strokes instead of trying to pick her up, also try sitting next to her cage and feed her some yummy treats through the wire, she will get used to your smell and learn to know that you love her and want to look after her, keep talking to her as she will reconise your voice.

get back to me in a couple of weeks or so to let me know how she getting on.

good luck,

sarah
