Question
Hi i have a 4 year dwarf lop doe (unsprayed) who has 2 bald patches. There one
on her (underneath) chest which goes to her stomach which is big and the other
one behind her neck they are both nice and pink. I notice in one of her eyes is
a bit cloudy and theres light blue lines across her middle of that eye and
theres a white cloudy bit in the corner of her eye. Also when i set her down to
run about i notice that she hops a few hops then stops and doesn't move unless
you go and pick her up and she lost a bit of weight and some mornings when i go
and feed them i notice some days loads more food in their dish . She has a
companion who lives with her in the same hutch but hes neutered and hes fine.

I also felt a big hard lump inside her on the left side near her hindleg is that normal for older does to get it as i had male rabbits shes my first female rabbit

Answer
Dear Nicola,

I think it's time for your bunny to have a complete wellness checkup by a good rabbit vet:

The fur loss could be due to mites, and her lethargy and weight loss could be due to anything from renal problems to molar spurs.  Please read:

The eye problems, since I can't see them, are harder to address.  But a good vet will be able to tell you whether there is a problem, and whether you need to be referred to a good veterinary ophthalmologist.

If the bunnies are bonded, be sure to bring them both to the vet, so she has moral support.  He can just go along for the ride.

I hope this helps.
