Question
Our female dutch rabbit is very sick-not eating or drinking-and is very thin. She gave birth two weeks ago and all of the bunnies died. We were first told she might be depressed, but now she is weak and wobbley. We need immeadiate advice! Local emergency vets refused to help us.

Answer
Dear Michael,

Please find a rabbit-savvy vet here right away:

www.rabbit.org/vets

Please also read:

It sounds as if your bunny may be suffering from ileus:

and may also be dehydrated.  She needs veterinary attention immediately.  I am not sure why an emergency vet would turn you away unless they were afraid to treat a rabbit, but surely they could administer subcutaneous fluids and get her warmed up!  Please check her temperature and if she's hypothermic, take the actions described in the sickbun.html
article above to warm her up.  That alone could help save her life.

PLEASE get her to the vet ASAP!
