bunny with a mysterious bump

My rabbit has a bump on his rear back with irritated skin surrounding somekind of dark mass... what could this be

Dear Melissa,

Without seeing it, I can only guess about what it *might* be.  A lump can be an abscess, the cyst of a botfly, or a cancer.  But it's not normal, and should be seen by an experienced vet who knows rabbit medicine.  You can find one here:
