dutch rabbit

hi i have a dutch rabbit, and ive had him for the past 13 years, he is still healthy. He is shedding a lot of fur, i was wondering why? Everytime i pet him, his fur just comes right out... maybe he is juss shedding, but im not sure.

Older rabbits often shed more heavily than younger rabbits. As long as there are no bald spots and you have not recently made any changes to the diet (which could cause allergies), it is likely that he is just shedding heavily. A lot of rabbits, young and old, shed very heavily all the time, and some shed heavily certainy years but not others.
