Mini-Rex Pet

Question
Our 6-month old mini-rex female has knawed off her own dew claws. We have kept her nails clipped, she has a large kennel, has free run of the house about an hour a day and free run of our fenced back yard at least an hour a day and more. Any ideas why she would do this? She was supposed to be a 4-H show bunny. Help!

I can't imagine why a rabbit would do something like this other than boredom but it doesn't sound like your bunny is bored at all.  All I can suggest is talk to your 4-H leader about it, and maybe contact a vet to see if he has any suggestions.  This might be an indication of something  more serious.
