Question
Has lost a lot of weight. He is very lathargic. This has happened very suddenly. Over last 5 days. Still drinks water. Please help

Answer
Hi Justin,  Does your rabbit also have diarrhea?  If so, only offer your rabbit hay and water for a few days until it clears up.  If it doesn't improve within a day or two he will need to see a vet.  If he doesn't have diarrhea it's possible he has a fur blockage.  Rabbits cannot throw up hairballs like a cat and sometimes it can get trapped inside.  Give him pineapple juice through a syringe several times a day to help break up the fur blockage, and offer him plenty of hay to help push it through his system.  Old fashioned rolled oats might also entice him into eating even if he won't touch his pellets.  Head to your local Tractor Supply or farm store and look for electrolytes to add to his water since he's still drinking, this is sort of like "Gatorade" for rabbits.  BounceBack, Revitalyte, Re-Sorb, DuMOR, Durvet ~ any of these will work.  Since they're made for bigger animals, just sprinkle a few pinches into his water bottle/dish and add water and mix.  If none of these things work soon, he'll need to be evaluated by a vet.  Best wishes, I hope he's feeling better soon!
